GLOSSARY OF KEYWORDS

ANGINA PAIN: A type of chest, neck and/or shoulder pain which may indicate that the heart is receiving insufficient blood supply.

INTRA-ATERIAL PLAQUE: A fatty layer attached to the inner lining of an artery, mostly composed of saturated fat, cholesterol and calcium.

SATURATED FAT: May occur naturally in the animal organism, e.g. lard, but usually refers to a fat hardened by artificial hydrogenation. It's usually called hydrogenated fat.

TRANS FAT: A fat which is only partially hydrogenated. Many researchers consider trans fats to be the most dangerous kind of fat in its role in both heart disease and cancer.

ANGIOPLASTY: Frequently called balloon angioplasty. The cardiologist threads a small tube through the coronary arteries and inflates a very small balloon like sac, compressing the fatty plaque against the artery wall, allowing more passage space within the artery.

BY-PASS SURGERY: A procedure which increases blood supply to the heart muscle by grafting auxiliary vessel branches from other arteries to the heart.

IV CHELATION: A procedure which helps remove intra-arterial plaquing by administering an infusion of EDTA, or other agents, by intravenous drip.

ORAL CHELATION: A method which utilizes a special nutritional supplement formulation which contains various chelating agents, thereby removing intra-arterial plaquing. Oral chelation is slowing than IV chelation, but is completely safe and has no contraindications.

ATHEROSCLEROSIS: A Greek term meaning "hard fat"

ARTERIOSCLEROSIS: A Greek term meaning "hard artery"

ENZYME: Complex proteins that are capable of inducing chemical changes in other substances without being changed themselves.

PROTEOLYTIC ENZYME: Protein splitting enzyme

AMYLOLYTIC ENZYME: Starch splitting enzyme

LIPOLYTIC ENZYME: Fat splitting enzyme

CELLULOLYTIC ENZYME: Cellullose splitting enzyme

"ASE": This suffix always means "enzyme"

"LYTIC": This suffix always means to "break down or dissolve"

PAPAIN: The proteolytic enzyme derived from papaya fruit.

BROMELAIN: The proteolytic enzyme derived from pineapple.

BIOLOGICALLY-ACTIVE: To render much more efficient, more potent and accomplishing its work faster, and more thoroughly.
